Welcome to the Carden Arms & Farm

A charming Grade II listed 18th-century Coaching Inn, standing proud at the head of Tilston village; full of antiques, fabulous artwork, old rugs and real fires. Five delightful local cask ales to choose from meticulously kept in the Georgian cellar, fine wines from around the world and gins galoreWith five ensuite, luxury bedrooms, there’s also ‘room at the Inn’ for rest and refreshment. Utterly unique; the pub owns Carden Farm less than a mile away which provides all the wonderful beef, lamb and pork served in the pub.

One old fashioned village pub, one un-modernised mixed livestock farm... like they used to be... trying hard to honour the past in a fast moving world.

From our farm to your fork...

We're madly passionate about knowing where everything on your plate comes from, especially the meat we raise on our farm just one mile from the pub using traditional, nature-friendly methods.

Our five luxury rooms offer a beautiful countryside retreat within the charming village of Tilston. Whether it's a romantic getaway or a flying visit, our rooms are adorned with antiques and hand-made sumptuous beds for the best night's sleep.

Choose from three king-sized double rooms, the Thoroughbred, the Hackney or the Clydesdale and for anyone travelling solo our dinky Shetland single room may be all that's required. The Shire is our grandest room and boasts a stunning four-poster bed, plus 'secret' bunk beds if required for younger family members, sleeping up to four. All rooms have the most elegant of en-suites with complimentary toiletries. A continental breakfast is included for week nights and indulge in a full English for the weekend.

WHAT OUR CUSTOMERS SAY

"Terrific pub. Cosy and full of character. All beams and farmers in wellies with their dogs. Equestrians tie up their horses outside and wander in for a pint. In a quiet village and picturesque countryside, it's a good place for a walk... A very pleasant place in every way."
